Gavin Jones (born February 1, 1980 in Maesteg ) is a former Welsh squash player .

Career

Gavin Jones began his professional career in 1999 and won a total of two titles on the PSA World Tour . He reached his highest place in the world rankings in December 2005 with 37th place. One of his greatest successes was second place at the 1999 World Team Championship . He took part in numerous other World and European Championships with the Welsh national team, including the World Championships in 2001 , 2003 and 2005 . Jones was part of the Welsh team in the 2002 and 2006 Commonwealth Games . At World Championships in individual he was in the main field in 2002 and 2003 , but failed both times in the first round. He became Welsh national champion in November 2005. After the US Open in 2014 , he ended his career.
