The Dunlop British Open Squash Championships 2008 were from 6 to 12 May 2008 in Liverpool in the UK instead. The men's squash tournament was part of the PSA World Tour 2007/08 and belonged to the PSA Super Series Silver category , the women's tournament was part of the WSA World Tour 2007/08 and belonged to the WISPA Gold category . The prize pool was $ 82,500 for the men and $ 43,500 for the women.

The defending champions were Grégory Gaultier and Rachael Grinham . The men's winner was David Palmer , who beat James Willstrop in the final with 11: 9, 11: 9, 8:11, 6:11 and 13:11. This was Palmer's fourth title at the British Open after 2001, 2003 and 2004. Nicol David won the women's competition for the third time . In the final she won against Jenny Duncalf with 9: 1, 10: 8 and 9: 0.

The field of participants in the men's competition consisted of 32 players, eight of which were reserved for qualifiers. The 16 best players were seeded. The women's competition consisted of 16 players with four places for qualifiers. The eight best players were seeded. Per Wildcard got Tom Pashley a spot in the main draw in the men's, the women's no wild card was awarded.
