Alex Gough (born December 8, 1970 in Newport ) is a former Welsh squash player .

Career

In 1993 Alex Gough made his tour debut. In his career he won a total of ten titles on the PSA World Tour and reached fifth place in July 1998, his highest ranking in the world rankings. His greatest successes include second place in the 1999 World Team Championships and 1997 European Team Championships. He participated with the Welsh national team in numerous other championships, including the 2001 , 2003 , 2005 and 2007 World Championships . At the 1998 Commonwealth Games , Alex Gough won the bronze medal in singles. He was four times Welsh champion between 2002 and 2008.

In 2008 he announced his retirement from the professional tour, but continued to play for the Welsh national team or in the English Premier League.

Alex Gough has been Managing Director of PSA since June 2008 . He has a degree in mathematics from Cardiff University .
