Elshorbagy defended his title with a three-set win in the final against Ramy Ashour , who celebrated his comeback after an injury. In the women's category, Nour El Sherbini won an all-Egyptian final against Nouran Gohar with 11: 7, 9:11, 7:11, 11: 6 and 11: 8.
The field of participants in the men's competition consisted of 32 players, eight of which were reserved for qualifiers. The eight best players were seeded. In the women's competition there were also 32 players, 16 of whom will be seeded. Of the other 16 places, eight were reserved for qualifiers.
