Nele Gilis (born February 20, 1996 in Mol ) is a Belgian squash player .

Career

Nele Gilis started her career in 2014 and has so far won six titles on the PSA World Tour . She reached her highest position in the world rankings with rank 16 in July 2020. At the European Championship 2013 she reached the main field for the first time. In 2015 she achieved her best result at a European championship when she reached the semi-finals. The following year she reached the final, in which she was defeated by Camille Serme in four sets. With the Belgian national team , she has already taken part in the European team championships several times. In 2018 she was part of the squad that achieved third place, the best result of a Belgian team at a European Championship. From 2013 to 2015 she was Belgian champion three times in a row and again in 2017, 2019 and 2020 . In 2019 she became European champion after a final victory over Coline Aumard .

Her sister Tinne Gilis is also a squash player.
