European Squash Championship 2019

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The 19 Squash Championships in individual ( english European Individual Closed Championships ) found from 4 to September 7, 2019 in the Romanian capital Bucharest instead. The organizers were the Federația Română de Squash and the European Squash Federation .

Last year's winners were Borja Golán and Millie Tomlinson . While Golán competed again, Tomlinson did not take part. Golán also reached the final for the repeated time, in which he met the top seeded Raphael Kandra . Kandra won the game with 11: 6, 11: 8, 7:11, 7:11 and 12:10, becoming the first German squash player to become European champion. In the women’s category, number one on the seeding list also secured the title: Nele Gilis beat last year's finalist Coline Aumard with 9:11, 11: 9, 11: 8 and 13:11. This was also Belgium's first European squash title.

The field of participants in the men's competition consisted of 24 players. There were 32 women at the start. In both fields, positions three and four, positions five to eight and positions nine to 16 were set in the form of a grouped setting. The players in the seeding list are therefore listed alphabetically in these seeding positions.
