The METROsquash Windy City Open 2014 took place from February 26th to March 3rd, 2014 in Chicago , Illinois , United States . The men's squash tournament was part of the PSA World Tour 2013/14 and belonged to the World Series Gold category . The women's squash tournament was part of the WSA World Tour 2013/14 and belonged to the Gold 50 category .

The defending champion was Borja Golán for the men. The women's competition was held for the first time. In the men's race, Grégory Gaultier won the final against Ramy Ashour 11: 7, 11: 3 and 11: 4. In the women’s top seeded Laura Massaro prevailed against Raneem El Weleily with 9:11, 11: 8, 11: 9, 3:11 and 11: 6.

The field of participants in the men's competition consisted of 32 players, eight of which were starting places for qualifiers. 16 players competed in the women's competition, four of which were starting places for qualifiers. Per Wildcard received Peter Creed in the men's and Aisling Blake a starting spot in the main draw in the women each.

Prize money and world ranking points

At the tournament, the following prize money and world ranking points were paid out or credited for reaching the respective round. Players who entered the main field from qualification received the specified qualification points in addition to those for reaching the respective round. Otherwise the amounts are not to be understood as cumulative. The total prize pool was $ 115,000 for the men and $ 50,000 for the women.
