Macau Open 2013 (Squash)

The Macau Open 2013 took place in Macau from October 15-20, 2013 . The men's squash tournament was part of the PSA World Tour 2013/14 and belonged to the International 50 category . The women's tournament was part of the WSA World Tour 2013/14 and belonged to the WSA Silver 35 category . At the same time, the Bluenose Squash Classic 2013 took place in Halifax , a tournament in the International 35 category .

Defending champion in the men's race was Karim Darwish , who did not appear this year. In the final, the top seeded Egyptian Omar Mosaad defeated the Englishman Adrian Grant in a playing time of 96 minutes with 11: 8, 4:11, 9:11, 11: 9 and 11: 8. Last year's winner Joelle King did not take part again in the women’s category . Dipika Pallikal won the final against Rachael Grinham with 12:10, 5:11, 11: 7 and 11: 9.

The field of participants consisted of 16 players each, four of which were starting places for qualifiers. The best four players were seeded for the men and the best eight players for the women. Per Wildcard received Steven Liu and Liu Chi Kwai each a spot in the main draw.

Prize money and world ranking points

At the tournament, the following prize money and world ranking points were paid out or credited for reaching the respective round. Players who entered the main field from qualification received the specified qualification points in addition to those for reaching the respective round. Otherwise the amounts are not to be understood as cumulative. The total prize pool was $ 50,000 for the men and $ 35,000 for the women.
