Macau Open 2016 (Squash)

The Macau Open 2016 took place in Macau from September 15-18, 2016 . The men's squash tournament was part of the PSA World Tour 2016/17 and belonged to the PSA 50 rating category . The women's squash tournament was part of the women's PSA World Tour 2016/17 and also belonged to the PSA 50 rating category .

The defending champions were Max Lee and Laura Massaro . In the men's race, Daryl Selby won , who benefited from Max Lee's health-related non-appearance in the final. In the women's final, Joelle King prevailed over Annie Au .

The fields of participants in the men's and women's competition consisted of 16 players each, four of which were intended for qualifiers. Per Wildcard received Steven Liu in the men's and Liu Chi Kwai a spot in the main draw for the ladies.

Prize money and world ranking points

At the tournament, the following prize money and world ranking points were paid out or credited for reaching the respective round. Players who entered the main field from qualification received the specified qualification points in addition to those for reaching the respective round. Otherwise the amounts are not to be understood as cumulative. The total prize money was US $ 50,000 each.
