Macau Open 2018 (Squash)

The Macau Open 2018 took place in Macau from March 29 to April 1, 2018 . The men's squash tournament was part of the PSA World Tour 2017/18 and belonged to the PSA 50 rating category . The women's squash tournament was part of the women's PSA World Tour 2017/18 and also belonged to the PSA 50 rating category .

Last year's winners were Mohamed Abouelghar and Nouran Gohar . Abouelghar did not start again, while Gohar started the tournament in second place. In the men's race, Yip Tsz-Fung prevailed, defeating Omar Mosaad in the final with 9:11, 6:11, 11: 4, 11: 5 and 11: 7. This was Yip's biggest title win on the World Tour to date. Nour Gohar managed to defend his title with a 3-0 win in the final against Salma Hany . She won the game 11: 8, 11: 8, 9:11 and 11: 7.

The fields of participants in the men's and women's competition consisted of 16 players each, four of which were intended for qualifiers. The eight best players were each seeded. Per Wildcard received Steven Liu in the men's and Gigi Yeung a spot in the main draw for the ladies.

Prize money and world ranking points

At the tournament, the following prize money and world ranking points were paid out or credited for reaching the respective round. Players who entered the main field from qualification received the specified qualification points in addition to those for reaching the respective round. Otherwise the amounts are not to be understood as cumulative. The total prize money was US $ 50,000 each.
