The The Windy City Open 2020 found from February 27 to March 4, 2020 in Chicago , Illinois , in the United States instead. The men's squash tournament was part of the PSA World Tour 2019/20 and belonged to the PSA World Tour Platinum category . At the same time, a women's squash tournament of the 2019/20 PSA World Tour took place. It also belonged to the PSA World Tour Platinum category .

The winners of the last edition in 2018 were Mohamed Elshorbagy for the men and Nour El Tayeb for the women. Ali Farag won the men's competition , beating Paul Coll with 12:14, 9:11, 11: 7, 11: 6 and 11: 1 . In the women's finals, Nour El Sherbini defeated Raneem El Weleily 11: 8, 8:11, 11: 8, 6:11 and 11: 9 and won the tournament for the first time. While it was the 19th title win on the tour for Farag, it was the 21st title for El Sherbini.

The fields of participation in the men's and women's competition consisted of 48 players each. The eight best male players and the 16 best female players were seeded. Per Wildcard received Shahjahan Khan in the men's and Hana Moataz a spot in the main draw in the women each.

At the tournament, the following prize money and world ranking points were paid out or credited for reaching the respective round. The amounts are not to be understood as cumulative. The total prize money was $ 250,000 each.
