1989 World Women's Squash Championship

The 6th World Squash Championship for women ( English 1989 Women's World Open Squash Championship ) took place in October 1989 in Warmond in the Netherlands . Immediately afterwards, the World Team Championship took place at the same location . The total prize pool was $ 40,000.

Defending champion Susan Devoy reached the final for the third time in her career. There she met Martine Le Moignan , who won the game 4: 9, 9: 4, 10: 8 and 10: 8. Le Moignan was the first European to become world champion.
