Ritwik Bhattacharya (born October 14, 1979 in Pathankot ) is a former Indian squash player .

Career

Ritwik Bhattacharya began his professional career in 1999 and won eight tournaments on the PSA World Tour . He reached his highest position in the world rankings with rank 38 in November 2006. At the World Championships in doubles he was runner- up in 2004 in Chennai on the side of Saurav Ghosal . Ritwik Bhattacharya was a total of five times Indian national champion and completed over 70 games for the Indian national team , for many years as captain. With this he took part in world championships in 2005 , 2007 and 2009 . He played his last professional tournament in 2010.

Private

Ritwik Bhattacharya attended the Rashtriya Indian Military College in Dehradun from 1992 to 1997 . In 2000 he graduated from St. Stephen's College in New Delhi with a bachelor's degree . He was awarded the Rajiv Gandhi State Sports Award for Best Athlete in 2003 . In September 2013 he married the Indian model Pia Trivedi.
