Jan Koukal (born June 20, 1983 in Prague ) is a former Czech squash player .

Career

Jan Koukal began his career in 2004 on the PSA World Tour , on which he won 34 titles and stood in 25 other finals. In January 2005 he reached number 39 in the world rankings, his best placement. With his title win at Château-Arnoux in July 2015, he became the first player to always win at least one title in twelve consecutive years. In June 2016 he increased this record with a tournament victory in Gibraltar .

His coaches were Michael Fiteni and Antonin Felfel. He was part of the Czech national team as a regular player from his professional debut. With this he took in 2003 at the World Cup in part. In addition, he was part of the Czech squad at European championships more than ten times . He celebrated his greatest success in the 2005 season when he reached the final of the European Championship in his native Prague . There he was clearly defeated by Grégory Gaultier . Jan Koukal is 18 times Czech champion .
