Richard "Dick" Carter is a former Australian squash player .

Career

Dick Carter was active as a squash player in the 1960s and 1970s. At the regional level, he was a key player in the 78-game undefeated New South Wales team . With the Australian national team he took part in the World Cup in 1967 , 1969 and 1971 and won the world title in all three participations. In the individual he was in the main field of the world championship in 1976 and 1977 and was eliminated both times in the first round. His best result at the British Open was reaching the quarter-finals in 1969. In 1965 he was New Zealand champion at the invitation of the New Zealand Squash Association , which promised a higher level for the event from Carter's participation and the Heather Blundells in the women's event .
