El Gouna International Squash Open 2019

The El Gouna International Squash Open 2019 took place from April 17th to 26th, 2019 in el-Guna , Egypt . The men's squash tournament was part of the PSA World Tour 2018/19 and belonged to the PSA World Tour Platinum category . At the same time, a women's squash tournament of the 2018/19 PSA World Tour took place. It also belonged to the PSA World Tour Platinum category .

Last year's winners were Marwan Elshorbagy for men and Raneem El Weleily for women. In the men's final, Ali Farag and Karim Abdel Gawad met each other, which Farag won with 11: 9, 12:10 and 11: 3. In the women's competition, Raneem El Weleily defended her title with a final victory over Nouran Gohar , who she defeated with 11: 8, 7:11, 12:10 and 11: 6.

The fields of participation in the men's and women's competition consisted of 48 players each. The eight best male players and the 16 best female players were seeded. Per Wildcard received Fares Dessouki and Youssef Ibrahim in the men's and Farida Mohamed and Jana Shiha a spot in the main draw in the women each.

At the tournament, the following prize money and world ranking points were paid out or credited for reaching the respective round. The amounts are not to be understood as cumulative. The total prize money was $ 176,000 each.
