El Gouna International 2016

The El Gouna International 2016 took place from 21 to 29 April 2016 in El Gouna , Egypt instead. The men's squash tournament was part of the PSA World Tour 2015/16 and belonged to the PSA World Series rating category .

Last year's winner was Ramy Ashour , who retired in the first round due to injury. In the final, the two top seeded, Mohamed Elshorbagy and Grégory Gaultier faced each other. Elshorbagy won the game 7:11, 9:11, 11: 3, 11: 9 and 11: 8 and thus his 22nd title on the World Tour.

The field of participants in the men's competition consisted of 32 players, eight of which were reserved for qualifiers. The eight best players were seeded. Per Wildcard received Zahed Mohamed a spot in the main draw.

Prize money and world ranking points

At the tournament, the following prize money and world ranking points were paid out or credited for reaching the respective round. Players who entered the main field from qualification received the specified qualification points in addition to those for reaching the respective round. Otherwise the amounts are not to be understood as cumulative. The total prize pool was $ 150,000.
