The El Gouna International 2012 took place from April 8th to 13th, 2012 in el-Guna , Egypt . The men's squash tournament was part of the PSA World Tour 2011/12 and belonged to the World Series Gold category .

The defending champion of the last event from the 2010 season was Karim Darwish . Ramy Ashour benefited in the final from James Willstrop's injury-related abandonment with the score of 12:10, 11: 5 and 5: 2 for Ashour and won the title.

The field of participants in the men's competition consisted of 32 players, eight of which were reserved for qualifiers. The eight best players were seeded. A wildcard was not awarded.

Prize money and world ranking points

At the tournament, the following prize money and world ranking points were paid out or credited for reaching the respective round. Players who entered the main field from qualification received the specified qualification points in addition to those for reaching the respective round. Otherwise the amounts are not to be understood as cumulative. The total prize pool for the men was 115,000 US dollars.
