Chanoch Nissany (born July 29, 1963 in Tel Aviv ) is an Israeli racing driver . He was the first Israeli Formula 1 driver and the first Jewish since Jody Scheckter .

Nissany was born in Israel, but has lived in Budapest in Hungary for a long time . He is a career changer in racing. Originally a successful businessman, he only started racing in his spare time at the age of 38. He made his debut in Formula 2000 , in the Hungarian championship. After an interlude in Formula 3000 , he made the leap into Formula 1 as a test driver.

In 2005, Nissany was the official test driver for the Minardi Formula 1 team . At the Hungarian Grand Prix 2005 he was used as a Friday test driver.

In 2006 he was at various events in the Minardi F1X2.

His son is the racing driver Roy Nissany .
