The ADAC Formula Masters ( spelling : ADAC formula masters ) was a formula racing series that ran from 2008 to 2014 and was intended to serve as the basis for a career in motor sport for drivers aged 15 and over . It was intended as a link between karting and more powerfully motorized formula cars. The racing series had been part of the ADAC Masters Weekend since 2009 and competed with Formula BMW .
The racing series was discontinued in 2014. As a successor series, the German Formula 4 championship will be held from 2015 .
vehicle
The monoposto described in the tender as Formula ADAC powered by Volkswagen is based on a carbon monocoque designed by Dallara with a front and rear wing, of which only the latter may be modified. When designing the series, special emphasis was placed on the safety of the racing drivers. The HANS system is compulsory. The vehicle meets the FIA crash and safety standards that have been in force in Formula 3 since 2008 .
The ADAC advertised a race-ready monoposto including motor with a price of 49,900 euros plus VAT.

- Displacement: 1,598 cm³
- Bore: 76.5 mm
- Stroke: 86.9 mm
- Construction: in-line four-cylinder naturally aspirated gasoline engine, four valves per cylinder, actuation via two overhead camshafts, engine block and cylinder head made of aluminum alloy, direct gasoline injection
