Emma Kimiläinen
Emma Kimiläinen-Liuski (born Kimiläinen , born July 8, 1989 in Helsinki ) is a Finnish racing driver .
Career
Kimiläinen began her career in karting, where she was active until 2004. In 2005 he switched to formula racing. She started in three different Formula Ford competitions, was runner-up in the Finnish championship, 5 in the Formula Ford NEZ and 7th in the Swedish Formula Ford. In 2006 she remained loyal to these competitions. She repeated the runner-up in the Finnish championship, was also runner-up in the Formula Ford NEZ and sixth in the Swedish Formula Ford. She also started sporadically in the V de V Challenge. In 2007 he switched to the Swedish Radical Championship, was second in the national ranking and third in the RM ranking. In 2008 she switched to the ADAC Formula Masters, where she finished tenth at the end of the season. In 2009 she switched to Formula Palmer Audi and finished fifth at the end of the year.
In 2014 she switched to touring car racing, namely to the Scandinavian Touring Car Championship, and finished eleventh in her debut season. In 2015 she stayed true to this series and finished seventh. In 2016, in the first race in Skövde, she had an accident in which she injured her neck and as a result of which she missed several races in the championship. In 2017 she competed in the Camaro Cup Finland and the Swedish V8 ThunderCar competition. For 2018 an engagement in the Electric GT Championship was planned; however, the introduction of this emission-free racing series has been postponed.
In 2019 she drove in the W Series . In the first race she was involved in an accident with Megan Gilkes , which made her neck injury acute again. Kimiläinen therefore had to suspend two races. In Assen she achieved a so-called "Grand Slam" (pole position, fastest lap, race win). In the last race at Brands Hatch she was able to cross the finish line in second place after a long battle with Alice Powell , which finally made her fifth in the championship.
