Picariello began his motorsport career in karting in 2002 , where he remained active until 2010. Among other things, he won the Belgian KF3 championship in 2007 and 2008. In 2010 Picariello also made his debut in formula racing . For SL Formula Racing , he took part in six races of the northern European Formula Renault . He won the FR2000 classification three times and was eighth at the end of the season. In 2011 he stayed with SL Formula Racing in the northern European Formula Renault. Two third places were his best placements. He finished the season in sixth place overall.
In 2012 Picariello received a cockpit in the ADAC Formula Masters at G & J / Schiler Motorsport . He won two races and was on the podium five times. He finished the season in sixth place with 152 points. With this, he clearly prevailed against his team-mate Sebastian Balthasar , who was 13th with 37 points. In addition, he took part in four Northern European Formula Renault events for SL Formula Racing. He was on the podium three times. In 2013 Picariello switched to Mücke Motorsport within the ADAC Formula Masters , which competed under the name ADAC Berlin-Brandenburg eV . He won ten races and won the championship title early. Picariello is the first driver in the ADAC Formula Masters to have consistently led the drivers' standings in one season.
