The Formula Renault 2.0 Northern European Cup (officially: Northern European Cup Formula Renault 2.0 ) is a formula racing series in which only Formula Renault 2.0 is used.

Overview

It is a junior series that emerged in 2006 from the German and Dutch Formula Renault 2.0. The "NEC" organizes its race weekends on race tracks in Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Scandinavia, Italy, Austria and the Czech Republic. It is part of Formula Renault , a brand formula whose series are held worldwide.

vehicle

In the Formula Renault NEC, standard chassis from the Italian manufacturer Tatuus were initially used. In the 2010 season the teams could choose between the older vehicles from Tatuus and the newly developed racing cars from Barazi-Epsilon . Since the 2011 season, only the Barazi-Epsilon vehicle has been used.

Both the Tatuus FR2000 and the Barazi-Epsilon FR2.0 comply with the current FIA crash standards for Formula 3 vehicles . A Renault engine with approx. 144 kW prepared by ORECA accelerates the vehicles up to 240 km / h. In addition, the Formula Renault can also come up with a sequential 6-speed gearbox, adjustable suspension and Michelin tires.
