Jake Dennis
Jake Dennis (born June 30, 1995 ) is a British racing driver . In 2017 he will start in the Pro category of the Blancpain Endurance Series as well as in the European Formula 3 championship .
Career
Dennis began his motorsport career in karting in 2006 , where he remained active until 2010. Among other things, he was runner-up in the 2009 CIK-FIA-KF3 World Cup. In 2010 he became U18 kart world champion. In 2011, Dennis switched to formula racing and competed for Fortec Motorsport in the InterSteps Championship . With eight wins from 20 races, he immediately won the title. He then started for Fortec in the winter series of the British Formula Renault . There he reached 18th place.
In 2012 Dennis competed for Fortec Motorsport in the Northern European Formula Renault . With three wins and a total of eleven podium finishes, he decided the championship for himself. He also took part in six races in the Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup for Fortec . He managed a second place and he was twelfth overall. Dennis received the McLaren Autosport BRDC Award for his accomplishments in 2012 . As a bonus, he received a Formula 1 test drive at McLaren . In 2013 Dennis drove in the Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup throughout. With a second place as the best result, he was once on the podium. As the best driver who had not won a race, he finished the season in fourth place overall. In the Northern European Formula Renault he drove four races, with one victory.
In 2014 Dennis switched to Carlin in the European Formula 3 championship . Three third places were his best results. He finished the season in ninth place overall. In 2015 Dennis competed in the European Formula 3 championship for the Prema Powerteam . In Pau he achieved pole position in every race and won two races. At the Grand Prix de Pau , however, he fell behind with technical problems and remained without points. At Spa-Francorchamps he managed to win two races again. Further victories followed in Spielberg and Portimão . While his teammate Felix Rosenqvist won the championship, Dennis improved to third place overall. After the season he took part in several races of the MRF Challenge Formula 2000 in winter 2015/16 .
In 2016 Dennis switched to the GP3 series at Arden International . He won two races and finished the season in fourth place in the championship. In addition, he took part in two races of the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) for the G-Drive Racing team, which is supported by Arden’s partner team Jota Sport .
In 2017 Dennis competes in the Pro category of the Blancpain Endurance Series for the Belgian Audi Club Team WRT . He also takes part in the first three races of the European Formula 3 championship for Carlin .
