Matthew Parry
Matthew "Matt" Parry (born January 14, 1994 in Cardiff , Wales ) is a British racing driver . He started in the GP3 series in 2015 and 2016 .
Career
Parry began his motorsport career in karting in 2006 , where he remained active until 2010. Among other things, he won the Super 1 National Rotax Max Junior title in 2010 . In 2011 Parry switched to formula racing . He has since been sponsored by the Caterham F1 Team until the team went bankrupt in 2014 . Parry started for Fluid Motorsport in the British Formula Ford and finished his debut season with fourth place as the best result in eighth place. In 2012 Parry competed for Fortec Motorsports in the InterSteps Championship . He won 13 of 23 races and won the championship.
In 2013 Parry stayed with Fortec Motorsports and switched to the Northern European Formula Renault . Parry won five races and won the championship with 289 to 230 points against his teammate Jack Aitken . He also made two guest starts each for Fortec Motorsports and Koiranen GP in the Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup and the Alpine Formula Renault . In the Alpine Formula Renault, he crossed the finish line once in third place. For his accomplishments in 2013, Parry received the McLaren Autosport BRDC Award . In addition to a prize of 100,000 pounds sterling , he was awarded a Formula 1 test with McLaren . In 2014 Parry started for Fortec Motorsports in the Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup. With a third place as the best result, he finished the season in eleventh place overall. Internally he was defeated by Aitken with 57 to 86 points. He also made six guest starts in the Alpine Formula Renault for Fortec Motorsports.
In 2015 Parry switched to Koiranen GP in the GP3 series . With three third places as the best results, he finished eighth in the drivers' championship. In 2016 Parry stayed at Koiranen GP in the GP3 series. He won a race and finished ninth overall as the best driver in his racing team.
