Marvin Kirchhöfer (born March 19, 1994 in Leipzig ) is a German automobile racing driver . In 2012 he won the ADAC Formula Masters . In 2013 he won the German Formula 3 Cup . In 2014 and 2015 he started in the GP3 series . In 2016 he was promoted to the GP2 series. He has been driving in the ADAC GT Masters since 2017.

Kirchhöfer began his motorsport career in kart racing in 1999 with a Mach1 racing kart . From 2000 he drove in licensed karting in the East German Kart Championship (ODKM), in which he was runner-up in 2003 in the Bambini-B class. In 2004 he did the same in the German ADAC kart championship. After switching to the Bambini A class, he became German ADAC kart champion in 2005. From 2007 he was active in the junior classes and in 2007 won the runner-up title of the NAKC-ICA juniors. In 2008 more titles followed and the switch to the KF3 junior class, with which he also took part in international racing series in the following year and secured the KF3 championship title in the ADAC Kart Masters. 2010 Kirchhöfer rose in the KF2 class to and gathered at the ADAC Formula Masters Experience Day first experience in Formula racing . He also became champion at the ADAC Kart Masters and German kart runner-up. In 2011 Kirchhöfer won the German Kart Championship , winning all five final races.

In 2012 Kirchhöfer made his debut in formula racing and competed in the ADAC Formula Masters for the Lotus team supported by Motopark Academy . Already in his debut race in Oschersleben he managed to win. He had a perfect weekend on the last race weekend in Hockenheim . He won all three races, drove the fastest race lap three times and achieved pole position in both qualifying sessions . With a total of nine wins, 16 podium finishes, seven pole positions and eight fastest race laps from 24 races, Kirchhöfer prevailed against Gustav Malja with 329 to 307 points . After Armando Parente , the first winner of the ADAC Formula Masters, Kirchhöfer is the second driver to win the ADAC Formula Masters drivers' championship in his debut season.

In 2013 , Kirchhöfer stayed with the Lotus racing team, which was supervised by Motoparc Academy, and switched to the German Formula 3 Cup . As in the ADAC Formula Masters, Kirchhöfer also won his debut race in Oschersleben in the German Formula 3 Cup. Another victory and fourth place followed on this race weekend. Kirchhöfer scored at least one victory at every event in the further course of the season. Only in one of 26 races he was not on the podium. With 13 wins he won half of all races. With five races to go, Kirchhöfer secured overall victory. In the end, Kirchhöfer prevailed against his teammates Artjom Markelow (339 points) and Emil Bernstorff (334 points) with 511 points .

At the beginning of November 2013, Kirchhöfer tested the GP3 series for the first time . In the three-day test drives on the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi , he started two days for MW Arden and one day for the Motopark Academy's GP3 team, Russian Time . Originally, he was to be given a cockpit for the 2014 GP3 series at the Russian Time racing team, which is managed by Motopark Academy. However, Motopark Academy lost support for the project before the start of the season. As a result, Kirchhöfer joined the ART Grand Prix . He won his first GP3 race in the main race in Hockenheim . Kirchhöfer stood on the podium at six others. He finished the season as the best ART driver in third place in the championship. Kirchhöfer also went to an event of the British Formula 3 championship for Fortec Motorsports . He got two victories. In 2015 Kirchhöfer stayed at ART Grand Prix in the GP3 series. With five wins, he was together with Luca Ghiotto the driver who had won the most races. He finished the season again in third place overall, while his team-mate Esteban Ocon won the championship. In addition, Kirchhöfer planned to participate in the European Formula 3 championship with EuroInternational in 2015 . Although he was registered for the second event, he did not take part in any races. He then ended his involvement in the series.

In 2016 Kirchhöfer switched to Carlin in the GP2 series . A second place in the sprint race in Monaco was his best result. He was replaced by Louis Delétraz for the last event and reached 17th place overall.

In 2012 Kirchhöfer won the Deutsche Post Speed ​​Academy . He is a sponsored pilot of the ADAC Sports Foundation. In 2010, 2011 and 2012 he was voted Saxony's motor sportsman of the year. In 2012 he was named ADAC Junior Motor Sportsman of the Year .

Kirchhöfer is the young patron of the Myelin Project, which is dedicated to research into multiple sclerosis .
