Course of a racing weekend
The race weekend begins on Friday with registration, technical inspection, tire handover and driver briefing, and Friday is reserved for free practice. On Saturday morning there will first be a fifteen-minute free practice session before the starting positions for the heats that will take place in the afternoon are determined in a ten-minute practice session. For this purpose, the field of drivers is divided into groups based on timed practice and each group drives once against each other group. In the evening, all results of the preliminary runs are added up, the best 28 drivers in this table qualify directly for the final races on Sunday. Sunday begins in the morning with a ten-minute warm-up followed by a hope race, in which the last six starting positions for the final races are achieved. The first final race will be set up according to the status of the preliminary runs and the result of the repechage run, the second final race will start according to the result of the first race. The race distance for the pre- and hope runs is 15 km for the seniors (OK / KZ2) and 10 km for the juniors (OKJ). The final races will be held over 25 km or 20 km. A driver can achieve a maximum of 62 points per weekend (final win: 25, heats: 10, timed practice: 2 points).
The races take place on the best outdoor go-kart tracks currently available in Germany and the German border area. In addition, prize money is also given out in the DKM for the placements, which should make the series more attractive. However, the costs cannot be covered by far. The costs for one season are around 50,000 euros.
