Changes in the teams

  • Bamboo Engineering left the GP3 series after one season. The starting place was to be taken over by the Russian Time project , which originally selected the Motopark Academy racing team as the service provider to oversee the operation. After the death of Igor Mazepa , the team principal and owner of the Russian Time project , the project's group of investors and Mazepa's heirs terminated the contract with Motopark Academy in mid-February. Motopark Academy planned with the driver trio Jimmy Eriksson , Marvin Kirchhöfer and Markus Pommer . A little later iSport International was announced as the new team for the implementation of all Russian-Time missions. However, in March 2014 it was decided to give back the GP3 starting place. The organizers reassigned the starting place to Hilmer Motorsport .
  • Arden International , which had previously competed under the name MW Arden with an Australian license, will start in 2014 with a British license under their original name Arden International.

Racing calendar

Nine racing weekends were held in 2014. Compared to the previous season, the race weekend in Valencia did not take place, but instead it was driven in Spielberg and Sochi . All events took place as part of the Formula 1 Grand Prix weekends. The race from the Nürburgring switched to the Hockenheimring Baden-Württemberg as planned .

All main races took place on Saturdays and all sprint races on Sunday.
