Markus Pommer (born January 27, 1991 in Heilbronn ) is a German automobile racing driver . In 2014 he won the German Formula 3 Cup . He started in the European Formula 3 championship in 2015 .

Pommer began his motorsport career in karting in 1999 , where he was active until 2006. Among other things, he won the South German ICA Junior Kart Cup in 2004 . In 2007 he switched to formula racing and competed for Mücke Motorsport in the German Formula BMW . Behind his teammates Philipp Eng and Kevin Mirocha , he finished his first season in tenth place in the championship. After the German Formula BMW was discontinued, Pommer switched to the newly founded ADAC Formula Masters for Team Abt Sportsline in 2008 . He won a race and was on the podium five times. He finished the season ahead of his teammate Daniel Abt in fifth place in the championship.

In 2009 Pommer switched to the German Formula 3 Cup and competed for Zettl Motorsport . He didn't win a race and two second places were his best results. He finished the season behind Laurens Vanthoor and Stef Dusseldorp in third place in the championship and was the best driver with a Mercedes engine. In 2010 he stayed in German Formula 3 and switched to Brandl Motorsport . With a second place as the best result, he was again denied a victory. As in the previous year, Pommer, who finished eighth overall, was the best Mercedes driver. In 2011 , Pommer contested his third season in the German Formula 3 Cup. At first he drove a Volkswagen engine for Motopark Academy . After scoring just one point on the first three race weekends, he switched to Jo Zeller Racing , who use Mercedes engines, for the fourth race weekend . In his second race for the new team, he achieved the first podium finish of the season in second place. With a total of four podium finishes, he finished the season in seventh place in the drivers' standings. He was the best German pilot.

In 2012 Pommer switched to the FIA Formula 2 championship . With three wins, only the champion Luciano Bacheta had won more races than Pommer. In the overall ranking he reached fourth place. In the winter of 2012/13, Pommer initially started two races in the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Middle East. Then Pommer started in 2013 for Lechner Racing Academy in the Porsche Supercup . He finished the season with a seventh place as the best result in 15th place in the drivers' standings.

In 2014 Pommer returned to Formula racing at Motopark Academy in the German Formula 3 Cup and competed for their Lotus team. He won 14 races and decided the championship with 424 to 277 points against Nabil Jeffri by a clear margin . At the same time, Pommer started for Super Nova International in the Auto GP in 2014 . He won twice and was on the podium seven times. He reached third place in the drivers' championship. In 2015 , Pommer stayed with Motopark and switched to the European Formula 3 championship . He won a race in Zandvoort . As the best driver in his racing team, he finished the season in tenth place overall.
