Kevin Mirocha

Kevin Mirocha (born October 7, 1991 in Hamm ) is a German - Polish automobile racing driver . Mirocha competed with a German license until the end of 2011 and took part in races with a Polish license in 2012.

Career

Mirocha began his career in karting in 1995 , which he practiced until 2006. After winning the BMW inspection course in 2006, he competed in the German Formula BMW with ASL Mücke Motorsport in 2007 . He reached eighth place overall and was third in the rookie classification. A special highlight was the participation in a demo show with the BMW Sauber F1 Pit Lane Park in Warsaw. In 2008 Mirocha started for Josef Kaufmann Racing in the German Formula 3 Cups . He finished the season in sixth place overall and achieved a total of four podium finishes.

For the 2009 season he switched to the Formula 3 Euro Series . Together with Johnny Cecotto jr. he started for HBR Motorsport in a Dallara Mercedes. After four race weekends, Mirocha, whose best placings were 13th, was replaced by Tom Dillmann . In the overall ranking he finished 29th. In 2010 Mirocha did not receive a cockpit for a full season again. He eventually took part in seven races of the Northern European Formula Renault and ended the season with a victory in ninth place in the championship. He also made guest starts in the Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup .

In 2011 Mirocha moved to Ocean Racing Technology in the GP2 series , where he again became Cecotto's teammate. He broke off a race weekend prematurely because of a shoulder injury that had been causing problems some time ago. From the eighth race weekend he was replaced by Brendon Hartley . At the end of the season he finished 22nd overall. In 2012 Mirocha received a cockpit in the FIA Formula 2 championship . He switched from the German to the Polish racing license this season. His Formula 2 racing car was painted in the colors of the Polish flag (white and red). Mirocha won a race and was on the podium six times. He finished the season on the sixth championship course.

Mirocha's parents are from Poland . He also took part in kart races there, in which he competed against Robert Kubica , among others, at the age of four . Until the end of the 2011 season, Mirocha started with a German license. For the 2012 season he switched to the Polish license.
