The Motopark Academy - sometimes also known as Team Motopark - is a German automobile racing team . In 2011 the racing team was active in the Formula 3 Euro Series , the German Formula 3 Cup , the ADAC Formula Masters and the Porsche Supercup . The team is based in Oschersleben near the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben . In 2013, the team entered the GP2 series under the name Russian Time .

history

The team was founded in autumn 1998 by Timo Rumpfkeil , who was still a racing driver himself at the time. Since the 1999 season, the racing team has been active in various international and national championships such as Formula König , Formula Renault and various Formula 3 series. Over the years the Motopark has won several titles in these formula classes. With Scott Speed and Sébastien Buemi , two former drivers of the racing team started in Formula 1 races.

On February 3, 2014, Igor Mazepa , the owner of the Russian Time project, died of a cerebral infarction . As a result, the new management canceled the contract with Motopark Academy and handed over the support of the teams to iSport International .

In 2020 Motorpark will compete with 2 teams in the Euroformula Open , as otherwise they would have exceeded the limit of cars for one team. The "second" Motorpark Team will start under the name Crypto Tower Racing. The manager and owner will be Kazuya Sakamoto , who is already a sponsor in the Superfomula and supported Motorpark in the Macau Grand Prix 2018 .
