Sacha Fenestraz
Sacha Fenestraz (born July 28, 1999 in Annecy , France ) is a Franco-Argentine racing driver . He won the Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup in 2017 . In 2018 he will contest his first full season in the European Formula 3 championship .
Career
Fenestraz began his career as a racing driver in kart racing . Between 2006 and 2014 he competed in Argentina and other South American countries as well as in France .
In 2015, Fenestraz competed in formula racing for the first time . He completed the French Formula 4 championship . He won 3 races and achieved a total of 10 podiums. He finished the championship in second place overall and was champion in the junior ranking.
In 2016 he contested the Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup (2 wins, 3 podiums) and the Formula Renault 2.0 Northern European Cup (1 win, 3 podiums) with Tech 1 Racing . He finished both championships in fifth place overall. In 2017 he again competed in these two championships with Josef Kaufmann Racing . In the Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup he won 7 of 23 races and was on the podium a total of 17 times. He won the championship with 367.5 points ahead of Will Palmer (298 points) and Robert Shwartzman (285 points). After his championship victory, he was accepted into the Renault Sport Academy. In the Formula Renault 2.0 Northern European Cup he took part in 3 of the 5 events taking place. Of these seven individual races, he won four, the rest he finished on the podium. He finished the championship in sixth place. In September he made his Formula 3 debut at the Nürburgring . In November he took part in the Macau Grand Prix with Carlin Motorsport , which he finished in seventh place.
In 2018 he will contest his first full season in the European Formula 3 Championship with the Carlin Motorsport team. On the first race weekend in Pau , he was able to win his first championship victory.
