Jüri Vips (born August 10, 2000 in Tallinn , Estonia ) is an Estonian racing driver . He won the ADAC Formula 4 in 2017 . In 2018 he started in the European Formula 3 championship and in 2019 in the FIA Formula 3 championship . In 2020 he will compete in the Japanese Super Formula and the Formula Regional European Championship .

Career

Vips began his career as a racing driver in karting . In 2011 he won the "Raket" class of the Estonian championships. He repeated this triumph in 2013 in the Rotax Junior Class. In 2014 he won the Rotax Winter Cup in the junior class and was the winner of the world finals in the Rotax Max Challenge , also in the junior class.

In 2016 and 2017 Vips started for the Prema Powerteam in the German and Italian Formula 4 championships . In 2016 he won the rookie title in the Italian championship. In 2017 he won the title in the German Formula 4 championship.

At the end of the 2017 season, Vips made his debut in the European Formula 3 Championship . He took part as a guest starter at the season finale in Hockenheim. In 2018 he started in the European Formula 3 Championship for the Motopark team . He won 4 races and finished the season in 4th place.
