stretch

The official racing calendar was set on September 16, 2019, and all the racetracks from the previous year are included again. The season was originally supposed to start in Le Castellet at the end of April, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic , the race weekend was postponed to the end of August and the season was not due to start in Monza until mid-May. However, like other motorsport series such as Formula 1 , the start had to be postponed even further, the season is now set to start in Misano at the beginning of August . Misano also replaces the planned racing weekend in Hungary.

In addition, collective test drives will take place on the same route in early October in Mugello, in mid-October in Monza and a week before the season finale in Vallelunga.

Sporting regulations

The champions of the racing series will receive 25 points for the FIA super license this year and a total of 200,000 euros in prize money will be paid out. As a further bonus, the champion of this year's series will receive a test with a Formula 3 racing car, which is organized by the Ferrari Driver Academy .

Teams

With the exception of the Mas du Clos Racing Team , all previous teams will take part again. The Maestro by Cram team and the Gillian Track Events GTE team were confirmed as new teams , bringing the number of teams to 10. Monolite Racing is also new . driver

Last year's champion Frederik Vesti switched to the FIA Formula 3 Championship after the 2019 season . Konsta Lappalainen is the only driver who also participated in the previous season.

Originally the 15-year-old Czech Roman Staněk was nominated as the fourth driver for Prema Powerteam in mid-February, but the team announced on June 15, 2020 that Staněk and Prema will not start together because Staněk with Charouz Racing System at the FIA -Formula 3 Championship I'll participate. British racing driver and W-Series champion Jamie Chadwick was nominated as a replacement .

Shortly before the first race of the season, DR Formula by RP Motorsport announced that the Spaniard Brad Benavides was nominated as the second driver alongside the Italian Emidio Pesce

Furthermore, the Venezuelan driver Alessandro Famularo, who was confirmed at Van Amersfoort Racing alongside Pierre-Louis Chovet in mid-February, retired before the start of the season due to personal problems.
