The FIA Formula 3 Championship is a racing series for Formula 3 racing cars hosted by the FIA and will take place from 2019 . All races take place as part of the Formula 1 World Championship .

The racing series was created by merging the GP3 series and the European Formula 3 championship .

Course of the race weekend

Every race weekend there is free practice with a duration of 45 minutes and a 30-minute timed practice . The starting grid for the Saturday race will be created on the basis of this qualification training. The starting grid for the second race, which takes place on Sunday, is determined from the result of the Saturday race, with the ten best-placed drivers starting in reverse order. Both races have a maximum duration of 40 minutes.
