Melville McKee

Melville McKee (born August 19, 1994 ) is a British - Singaporean racing driver . He started in the GP3 series in 2013 .

Career

McKee began his motorsport career in karting in 2008 , where he was active until 2009. In 2010 he switched to the single-seater racing and entered the Formula Lista to. He immediately reached third place overall. In 2011 McKee received a cockpit at ARTA Engineering in the Alpine Formula Renault . He won three races and finished the season in fourth place in the drivers' standings, while his teammate Yann Zimmer was runner-up. In addition, he took part in three Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup events for ARTA Engineering . After the season, McKee switched to Interwetten Racing and competed in the British Formula Renault winter series. In 2012 McKee competed for Interwetten Racing in the Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup. With a second place as the best result, he finished the season in eighth place. He also took part in three Alpine Formula Renault events. With two second places as the best results, he was tenth overall.

In 2013 McKee received a cockpit at Bamboo Engineering in the GP3 series . He won the sprint race at the Nürburgring . Before the last race weekend he lost his cockpit due to complications with the team. Although he had achieved the only GP3 victory for Bamboo, he was defeated within the team by Lewis Williamson with 31 to 44 points. McKee finished the season in 14th place overall.

Melville McKee's grandfather Mike McKee was also a racing car driver. McKee is British and Singaporean. He starts with a British license.
