Roman De Beer

Roman De Beer (born October 6, 1994 in Johannesburg ) is a South African racing driver . He competed in the GP3 series in 2014 .

Career

De Beer began his motorsport career in karting , where he was active from 2007 to 2010. Among other things, he was world champion in the ROK junior class in 2009. In 2010 he joined the Formula racing and went for the Scuderia Victoria World in Formula Abarth in. With a second place as the best result and a total of three podium finishes, he finished his debut season in ninth place. In 2011, De Beer only took part in three Formula Abarth events for Scuderia Victoria. A second place was his best result. He reached eleventh place in the Italian and 16th place in the European ranking. In 2012 De Beer took part in four events of the Italian Formula 3 championship with Scuderia Victoria . With a fifth place as the best result, he was twelfth in the Italian standings.

De Beer took part in tests of the GP3 series for Trident Racing at the end of 2012 . Since he could not raise a budget for the 2013 season, he decided to take a year off and only take part in further GP3 test drives for Trident. In 2014 De Beer finally received a GP3 racing cockpit from Trident Racing. After the first half of the season, his engagement ended prematurely. With a fourth place he achieved Trident's only point placement of the season. At the end of the season De Beer was in 18th place overall.
