Webster began his motorsport career in karting in 2008 , where he was active until 2009. In 2010 he switched to formula racing . He competed in the BARC Formula Renault and achieved fourth place overall with four podium finishes and a second place as the best result. Webster also won the BARC Formula Renault winter championship. In addition, he took part in individual races in other series. In 2011, Webster improved to second place in the BARC Formula Renault with three wins. With 286 to 295 points he lost to Dino Zamparelli . Following the season, he took part in the winter series of the British Formula Renault and came fourth. In 2012 Webster played his third season in the BARC Formula Renault. He won five races and came in second again. That season he was defeated by Scott Malvern with 335 to 368 points. He also started at the Formula 3 Masters .
