Previous model Lamborghini Gallardo

The Lamborghini Huracán LP 610-4 is a sports car manufactured by Automobili Lamborghini . The successor to the Gallardo made its official debut at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show . The Huracán is manufactured at the Lamborghini plant in Sant'Agata Bolognese . Deliveries to the first customers started in spring 2014.

Surname

Like most of the names of Lamborghini models, the name Huracán comes from the world of bullfighting. The fighting bull Huracán of the Spanish breed "Conte de La Patilla" fought in Alicante in August 1879 , where he remained undefeated.

design

The design of the Huracán, like all Lamborghini models from recent years, is characterized above all by sharp edges and an aggressive appearance. Filippo Perini from Lamborghini's own design studio Centro Stile Lamborghini was responsible for the design.

interior

The instrument cluster is a 12.3-inch TFT - color display running that has a resolution of 1440 × 540 pixels. The display is based on the Audi virtual cockpit , which was first used in the Huracán and a short time later also appeared in the Audi TT 8S . It reproduces a large part of the vehicle information that is important for the driver and takes over the three-dimensional map display of the navigation system (Lamborghini Infotainment System = LIS, a version of Audi MMI adapted to Lamborghini ). LIS uses a Tegra 3 processor from Nvidia . Engine oil pressure, temperature and battery voltage are shown on a narrow display in the center console. The sports seats, which can be individually configured by the buyer, are covered with nappa leather and Alcantara .

technology

Bonnet of the Huracán
Wheel and brake system of the Huracán

The hybrid chassis of the Lamborghini Huracán consists of a structure made of carbon fiber reinforced plastic "carbon" and aluminum elements - it is prefabricated in the factory of parent company Audi in Neckarsulm and then arrives for final assembly in St'Agata Bolognese, Italy. With a dry weight of 1,422 kg, the vehicle achieves a power-to-weight ratio of 3.17 kg / kW (2.33 kg / PS). The V10 engine with 5.2 liters displacement, as in the predecessor Gallardo, develops a maximum of 448 kW (610 hp) at 8,250 rpm and a torque of 560 Nm at 6,500 rpm. The direct injection system IDS (Iniezione Diretta Stratificata) achieves - by the way, the world's first V10 engine - together with the manifold injection (MPI) more power and torque with consumption and emission values that meet the standards set by the Euro 6 standard. The top speed is 325 km / h, while acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h takes 3.2 seconds and from 0 to 200 km / h in 9.9 s.

The power of the V10 is transferred to the wheels via the Lamborghini dual clutch transmission (LDF = Lamborghini Doppia Frizione) connected to the electronically controlled all-wheel drive. On the Huracán, various driving modes can be called up using a selector switch on the steering wheel (ANIMA = Adaptive Network Intelligent Management), with three settings available: STRADA, SPORT and CORSA. The various settings influence the process of various systems, such as the reactions of the engine and transmission, the vehicle sound, all-wheel drive and the electronic stability control. Carbon-ceramic brakes are optionally available for the Huracán . A steering system with variable sensitivity, known as "Lamborghini Dynamic Steering", and the suspensions with magnetorheological shock absorbers are also available as special equipment.

As the world's first production car, it has an inertial navigation system (Lamborghini Piattaforma Inercial LPI), including three acceleration sensors and three gyroscopic instruments , which is connected to ANIMA via a fast FlexRay bus.

Trivia

On November 15, 2017, Lamborghini gave Pope Francis a Huracan decorated with gold-colored rally stripes. The head of the Catholic Church announced that the vehicle would be auctioned for the benefit of charitable organizations. The vehicle was finally auctioned on May 12, 2018 by the auction house Sotheby’s and achieved almost 810,000 euros. 70 percent of the proceeds will be donated to reconstruction projects in the Iraqi Nineveh Plain. The remaining 30 percent go to aid organizations that are active in Central Africa.

Based on the Huracán, the Italian body manufacturer Ares Design has been building the Ares Panther since 2018 , which is supposed to be reminiscent of the De Tomaso Pantera .
