The Lamborghini Terzo Millennio (Italian for Third Millennium ) is an electric concept vehicle that was developed by the Italian automaker Lamborghini in collaboration with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). It is the first product of a three year partnership between the two institutions valued at £ 100,000,000 . The Terzo Millennio was presented in November 2017 at the EmTech conference in Cambridge , Massachusetts , USA .

The design of the Terzo Millennio is part of the "Gandini line" and is the work of Lamborghini chief designer Mitja Borkert and the company's Centro Stile department. The vehicle technology was developed by engineers from Lamborghini and by professors and students from MIT.
Vehicle information
Electric motor
The Terzo Millennio uses high capacity supercapacitors instead of batteries because they charge and discharge faster. These supercapacitors are designed to store and release energy at the same time to enable the car to perform better without relying on chemical reactions. Each wheel, whose rims glow orange, contains an electric motor, so that the torque can be controlled individually, which means that the stability of the car is as good as that of a modern Formula 1 car. Since there is a motor on each wheel, the layout of the car would be all-wheel drive if it were functional.
Autonomous functions
The Terzo Millennio should have an autonomous system, but only for driving on racetracks. This system would run the car for a full lap without fail and then teach the driver how to drive the lap on their own using a ghost car based on video game series like Forza and Gran Turismo.
