The Lamborghini Sesto Elemento ("sixth element") is an off-road sports car from the Italian automobile manufacturer Lamborghini . The name of the two-seater is supposed to express the connection to the sixth element ( carbon ) in the periodic table of the elements , since the outer skin of the Sesto Elemento consists mainly of carbon fiber reinforced plastic .

idea

The vehicle, equipped with a sequential six-speed transmission in transaxle design and all-wheel drive , was first presented at the 2010 Paris Motor Show. The chassis, the body, the drive shafts and other chassis components consist mainly of carbon fiber reinforced plastic . Due to this lightweight construction, the total weight is only 999 kilograms.

The engine develops an output of 419 kW (570 hp) and a maximum torque of 539 Nm. The 5.2 liter V10 engine was adopted from the Lamborghini Gallardo . Hot air escapes upwards through 10 hexagonal openings in the hood. Two inlets bring cool air to the mid-engine . Because of the high engine power and low weight, the power-to-weight ratio is 1.75 kg per hp. The Lamborghini accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in 2.5 seconds and reaches a top speed of 350 km / h.

Production model

The production model largely corresponds to the study from 2010 and came onto the market in 2012. The model was limited to 20 vehicles and cost around US $ 2.9 million (approx. € 2.7 million) at the premiere. All vehicles are already sold out.
