history
The Lamborghini Islero was named after the fighting bull Islero , who fatally injured the bullfighter Manolete in 1947 . When it was presented at the Geneva Motor Show in March 1968, it was considered to be a revised 400 GT , the engine and chassis (3.9-liter V12 with four overhead camshafts, wheels and disc brakes all around individually suspended from two wishbones) from its predecessor has been. In contrast to the round 400 GT, however, it got a body with pronounced edges, which was no longer manufactured by the Carrozzeria Touring , which has since gone bankrupt , but by the Carrozzeria Marazzi , and its quality was inferior.
1969 by the Islero was Islero S replaced. The "S" can easily be recognized by the flared fenders and the front vent windows. In addition, the "S" got a 257 kW engine and the improved chassis of the Espada .
