The Ares Panther is a sports car from the Italian Modena- based body manufacturer Ares Design . It is said to be a reminiscence of the De Tomaso Pantera produced between 1971 and 1993 .

history

The sports car was presented in March 2019. Production started in October 2018 and the first vehicles were delivered in spring 2019. A total of 21 Ares Panthers are to be built. According to the manufacturer, the construction time of a car is twelve weeks. As part of the “Legends Reborn” series by Ares Design, old sports car models are to be reinterpreted. The Panther is the first model in this series.

technology

Since Ares Design focuses on body construction, an external platform is used. This is why the sports car uses the technical basis of the Lamborghini Huracán , which also provided the drive. The 5.2-liter V10 gasoline engine in the Panther develops 485 kW (659 hp). This should accelerate the car to 100 km / h in 3.1 seconds. Ares Design states that the top speed is over 325 km / h. The vehicle has a Haldex - wheel drive system and a seven-stage dual-clutch transmission . Compared to the Huracán, the sports car has a body made of carbon fiber laminate, which reduces the weight by around 100 kg. An additional roll cage should provide additional stability. Like the De Tomaso Pantera, the Panther has folding headlights .
