Eric Lichtenstein (born October 6, 1994 in Buenos Aires ) is a former Argentine racing car driver . He started in the GP3 series in 2013 .

Career

Lichtenstein began his motorsport career in karting in 2003 , where he remained active until 2011 and won several championship titles in Argentina. In the 2010/2011 season he also gained experience in touring cars in the Argentine Top Race Series . There he finished eleventh with a podium finish. In 2011, he also took part in a number of formula racing races. In the Formula Pilota China Series he started three out of six race weekends, in the Argentine series Fórmula Metropolitana he completed two races. In 2012 Lichtenstein decided to move to Europe to join the British Formula Ford at Jamun Racing . Lichtenstein started eleven times from pole position and with eleven wins from 23 races had won more races than all opponents. Nevertheless, it was not enough to win the title at the end of the season and he was third overall. In addition, he took part in all twelve races of the Formula Ford EuroCup, which had no overall classification. There he achieved three wins and five pole positions.

For the 2013 season , Lichtenstein received a cockpit from Carlin in the GP3 series . After the fifth race weekend, he lost his cockpit because his sponsor Velociudad Driver Management had not transferred the contractually agreed payments. In contrast to his teammate Nick Yelloly and his successor Alexander Sims , Lichtenstein remained without a podium placement and without points. He was 22nd in the drivers' championship.
