Nick Yelloly (born December 3, 1990 in Stafford , England ) is a British automobile racing driver . He competed in Formula Renault 3.5 in 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2015 . In 2013 and 2014 he took part in the GP3 series .

Career

Yelloly began his motorsport career in karting in 2005 , where he was active until 2008. In the winter series of the British Formula Renault , he also gave this year his debut in single-seater racing and was 14th in the standings. In 2009 he competed for the Hitech Junior Team in the British Formula Renault and finished his first season in 19th place overall. In the subsequent winter championship he was runner-up that year behind Harry Tincknell . In 2010 he stayed with his team, which started this season as the Atech Grand Prix . Yelloly won one race and was on the podium three times. At the end of the season he finished as the second best driver of his team behind Tamás Pál Kiss in seventh place in the drivers' championship. He also started as a guest starter in two races in the Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup .

In 2011 Yelloly competed in the GP3 series for Atech CRS Grand Prix . He scored points in two races and a third place was his best result. His teammates remained without points. He finished the season in 21st place overall. He also took part in the last three Formula Renault 3.5 racing weekends for Pons Racing . He crossed the finish line in sixth place in his first race, but was disqualified after the race because there was not enough fuel in his tank. In the following races, Yelloly scored three points and a second place was his best result. As the team's best pilot, he finished 14th in the championship. For the 2012 Formula Renault 3.5 season , he received a cockpit from Comtec Racing . He won the season opener in Alcañiz and the second race at the Nürburgring . With a total of four podium finishes, he finished the season in fifth place. Against his team-mate Vittorio Ghirelli he clearly prevailed with 122 to 5 points.

In 2013 , Yelloly returned to the GP3 series . He was given a cockpit at Carlin . His best results were two second places. Unlike him, his teammate Alexander Sims won a race, but Sims did not complete the season. Yelloly finished sixth in the drivers' championship and was therefore the best Carlin driver. In addition, Yelloly took part in an event of the Formula Renault 3.5 season 2013 for Zeta Corse . In 2014 Yelloly switched to Status Grand Prix within the GP3 series . He won a race and was on the podium four times. Only in one race did he not score any points. Yelloly was again the best driver in his racing team and finished the season in sixth place, as in the previous year.

In 2015, Yelloly planned to switch to endurance racing to Jota Sport in the European Le Mans Series (ELMS). However, he withdrew from the series before the start of the season. Instead, he joined Hilmer Motorsport for the second race weekend of the 2015 season in the GP2 series . After the seventh event, he left the GP2 series and returned to Formula Renault 3.5. For by Charouz Racing System supervised Lotus team he took part in an event.
