Victor Carbone

Victor Carbone (born September 13, 1992 in São Paulo ) is a former Brazilian automobile racing driver . He drove in the Indy Lights from 2011 to 2013 . In 2014 he started in the GP3 series.

Career

Carbone began his motorsport career in karting . In 2008 he switched to formula racing . He finished 15th in the Skip Barber National Championship and eighth in the Skip Barber Western Regional Series . In 2009 he moved to Alegra Motorsports in the F2000 Championship Series . He took part in 9 of 12 races and finished the season in tenth place in the drivers' standings. In 2010 Carbone stayed with Alegra Motorsports. He won 6 out of 14 races and won the championship title

In 2011 Carbone competed for Sam Schmidt Motorsports in the Indy Lights . At the season finale, he achieved his first Indy Lights victory. While his teammates Josef Newgarden and Esteban Guerrieri occupied the first two positions, he was sixth in the drivers' championship. In 2012 , Carbone stayed with Sam Schmidt Motorsports in Indy Lights. With two third places as the best results, he was again sixth overall, while his teammates Tristan Vautier and Guerrieri were in the first two positions. In 2013 , Carbone couldn't find a cockpit for an entire season. He competed in the Indy Lights for the Moore Racing team . He also completed a number of races in the Canadian Porsche GT3 Cup.

In 2014 Carbone moved to Europe and competed for Trident Racing in the GP3 series . After missing points in the first four events, he dropped out of the series. A 17th place was his best result. At the end of the season he finished 31st overall.
