Samin Gomez

Samin Gomez Briceno (born February 4, 1992 ) is a Venezuelan racing car driver .

Career

Gomez began her motorsport career in karting in 2006 , where she remained active until 2007. In 2008 she switched to formula racing and initially competed in Asia. She started in the Asian Formula Renault 2.0 and reached 13th place. She also took part in two races in the Asian Formula Renault Challenge. In 2009, Gomez stayed in the Asian Formula Renault Challenge and finished ninth in the drivers' championship. She also took part in the Chinese Formula Campus Challenge. In 2010, Gomez improved to third overall in the Asian Formula Renault Challenge. She had two pole positions and three podiums during the season .

In 2011, Gomez initially competed in six of ten Formula Abarth events in Europe . She took part in two races for EuroInternational and finally switched to Jenzer Motorsport for the last four events . Gomez was 16th in the Italian and 17th in the European standings. A seventh place was her best individual result. She also took part in four of six races in the Formula Pilota China Series for Jenzer . She achieved a third place and was tenth in the drivers' championship. In 2012, Gomez stayed in Formula Abarth with Jenzer Motorsport and competed in every race. With two third places as the best results, she finished the European and Italian rankings in seventh place.

In 2013 Gomez switched to the GP3 series , where she competed again for Jenzer Motorsport. In contrast to her team mates Patric Niederhauser and Alex Fontana , she remained without points. At the end of the season she was in 26th place. In 2014 , Gomez was without a full-time cockpit. For Zele Racing she took part in two Auto GP events. In 2015 , Gomez returned to the GP3 series and competed for Campos Racing in three events.
