Giovanni Venturini
Giovanni Venturini (born November 9, 1991 in Vicenza ) is an Italian racing driver . In 2012 and 2013 he competed in the GP3 series .
Career
After Venturini was only briefly active in karting , he began his motorsport career in 2008 in formula racing . Starting for CO2 Motorsport , he finished second in the Winter Trophy of the Italian Formula 2000 Light and seventh in the winter series of the Portuguese Formula Renault . In 2009 Venturini competed in both the Italian and Swiss Formula Renault. With a win he finished the Italian Formula Renault in third place overall. In the Swiss Formula Renault he was runner- up with three wins behind Nico Müller . In 2010 Venturini switched to Epsilon Euskadi in the Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup . He decided a race for himself and finished fifth in the overall standings. He also competed for Epsilon Euskadi on one racing weekend each in the British and Northern European Formula Renault .
In 2011 Venturini competed in the Auto GP for Durango . He managed to win his debut race in Monza . After leading the championship for the first four races, he lost a few positions in the course of the season despite another victory and finally came ninth in the drivers' standings. Against his teammate Giuseppe Cipriani he clearly prevailed with 76 to 2 points. In 2012 Venturini started the season at BVM Target in the Formula Renault 3.5 . After the fourth race weekend, he lost his cockpit. He switched to the GP3 series for Trident Racing and contested five out of eight race weekends . He got two third places as the best results. Venturini was the only Trident pilot to score points. He finished the season in 13th place in the drivers' championship. In 2013 Venturini stayed with Trident in the GP3 series. At Silverstone he won the sprint race. Venturini finished the season in 15th place overall. He had scored 26 of the 32 points of his racing team.
