American Slang is the third studio album by the American alternative rock band The Gaslight Anthem from New Brunswick. It was released on June 15, 2010 on SideOneDummy Records .

Emergence

The album was produced by Ted Hutt and recorded in the Magic Shop Studio in New York . On March 23, 2010, the first single, American Slang , was released through the website.

reception

On Metacritic.com , the album received an average rating of 80/100 from 29 reviews. In Rolling Stone magazine , Christian Hoard gave 3.5 out of 5 stars and wrote that American Slang had a much more advanced sound and that the refrains were more elaborate. Brian Fallon's lyrics seemed a bit "forced" at times.
