In 2009, Ceccon also switched to formula racing and competed for RP Motorsport in every race of the European F3 Open . With two fourth places as the best results, he finished his debut season in twelfth place overall, while his teammate Stefano Bizzarri finished the season in third place. After several podium finishes, he scored his first victory in the penultimate race of the season at the Circuit de Catalunya . In the drivers' championship he was beaten again by Fumanelli, who had finished third with 112 points, and finished fourth with 92 points. He also took part in a racing weekend in the Italian Formula 3 championship and was 28th in the championship.

After Ceccon in November 2010 for various teams in GP2 had participated -Testfahrten, he moved in 2011 to the Auto GP to Ombra Racing . He scored his first victory on the Hungaroring . He benefited from a mistake made by the race management, who mistakenly sent the safety car onto the track before the second driver. Ceccon therefore had the opportunity to catch up with the field as the leader and win the race safely. Ceccon won the championship with a total of five podium finishes. He prevailed with 130 to 127 points against Luca Filippi , who did not take part in a race weekend. In addition, Ceccon was the winner of the U21 classification of the Auto GP. At the end of the season he also took part in the 2011 GP2 Final for Coloni , where he finished seventh. He also made his debut in test drives for Toro Rosso in a Formula 1 car.

At the end of the season he was ninth in the drivers' championship. In 2013 , Ceccon received a GP2 cockpit from Trident Racing . In Monte Carlo , he achieved his first podium finish in the GP2 series with a second place in the main race. After the sixth event, he lost his cockpit to Ricardo Teixeira , even though he was the only driver on his team to score points at the time. Ceccon's contract was only signed for one race weekend at a time, as he had no personal sponsors. Ceccon finished 17th in the drivers' championship and scored more points than his team-mate and his successors combined over the course of the season. In addition, Ceccon made two guest starts in the International GT Open for Ombra in GT racing in 2013 .

In 2014 , Ceccon was initially without a cockpit. In August he received a contract with Jenzer Motorsport for the last four events of the GP3 series. A fifth place was his best result and he finished the season in 15th place. Ceccon was the best driver who hadn't participated in every race weekend. In 2015 , Ceccon stayed in the GP3 series and moved to Arden International . He won the sprint races at Silverstone and Mogyoród and improved to seventh overall.
